Tour of Dwingelderveld

Get on the saddle and discover the charm of Dwingelderveld National Park, one of the most beautiful nature reserves in the Netherlands. First you drive to the beautiful hamlet of Echten. Here you will see an old manor and historic farms. In the countryside it is peaceful to cycle along ash trees and meadows. Here you experience the characteristic Drenthe silence. Further on you drive into the forest on the edge of the Dwingelderveld. Before crossing the heath, you can take a look at the visitor center and the sheepfold. If you are early enough, you can see the herd walking onto the heath: a true experience. Just like getting off in the middle of the heath and looking around you. You drive back to Hoeve Sonneclaer through the forests of Echtenerzand.
