Walking in the footsteps of Roland Holst

This route takes you across the Oude Buisse Heide near Zundert. At the edge of the forest you pass a seventeenth-century peat canal. In the past, a lot of peat was cut here, which was transported on long narrow boats over this canal to the ports in Breda. Further on you will see many rhododendrons along the path. They used to be planted on estates as a status symbol. Further on on your right is the Annahoeve, which is named after the mother of Henriette Roland Holst. You walk through a varied forest to the old heathland. Enjoy the silence and the beauty, just like Vincent van Gogh did! Back in the forest you pass the tea house where Henriette Roland Holst liked to stay. The route ends with something tasty at't Pannehûske.
