Cycle from Van der Valk Avifauna along the Heimanswetering towards Woubrugge. The Heimanswetering is the connection between the Oude Rijn and, among other things, the Braassemermeer. You may pass one of the tour boats of Rederij Avifauna, which sail three times a day to the Braassem. It is also often pleasantly busy with pleasure craft. The Groene Hart is an area rich in windmills, the first windmill you will encounter on this route is the Vrouwgeestmolen. This mill was built in 1797 and has been drained and inhabited by the Vrolijk family for six generations. At the height of the Kruisweg you cross the water and continue cycling on the Comriekade to the point where the Heimanswetering, the Paddegat and the Wijde Aa converge.

Keep left and continue cycling along the Wijde Aa. Many different bird species can be found along the shore, such as marsh harrier, reed warbler, reed bunting, reed warbler and cuckoo. At junction 64, follow the road in a southern direction and drive into the polder towards the Lagenwaardse Molen (formerly the Bosmolen). Via's Molenaarsbrug you cycle back to Avifauna.

The most famous windmill type in the Netherlands. Windmills were used not only to produce flour from cereals, but also to reclaim polder areas. Natural energy. The most famous windmills can be found in Kinderdijk, really set up as a polder model. A must see!
