Cycle from Van der Valk Avifauna along the Heimanswetering towards Woubrugge. The Heimanswetering is the connection between the Oude Rijn and the Braassemermeer. You may pass one of the cruise boats of Rederij Avifauna, these sail three times a day to the Braassem. It is also often pleasantly busy with pleasure boats. The Groene Hart is a windmill-rich area, the first mill you will encounter on this route is the Vrouwgeestmolen. This mill was built in 1797 and has been pumped and inhabited by the Vrolijk family for six generations. Cross the water at the Kruisweg and continue cycling along the Comriekade to the point where the Heimanswetering, the Paddegat and the Wijde Aa meet.

Keep left and continue cycling along the Wijde Aa. Along the shore are many different bird species such as marsh harrier, reed warbler, reed bunting, reed warbler and cuckoo. At junction 64, follow the road in a southerly direction and drive into the polder towards the Lagenwaardse Molen (formerly the Bosmolen). You will cycle back to Avifauna via's Molenaarsbrug.

The most famous windmill type in the Netherlands. Windmills were used not only to produce flour from cereals, but also to reclaim polder areas. Natural energy. The most famous windmills can be found in Kinderdijk, really set up as a polder model. A must see!
