A chic bike ride through the Gooi

This route takes you from royal Baarn, where the House of Orange lived for centuries at Soestdijk Palace and Drakensteyn Castle, to Blaricum. You cycle over the Eempolder along the Eem river. A little before you cycle back into Baarn, you pass the beautiful Drakenburg conference centre. At the end of the cycle route you arrive at Eethuys-Café De Generaal. The building used to serve as a station, with a special waiting room for the royal family. Admire the historic building and enjoy a cup of coffee, lunch or dinner in the meantime. Outside Blaricum you cycle through an area with so-called table mountains. These hills were made by human hands and they were possibly used as sacrificial mountains. The hills can be up to 35 metres above NAP. A lookout point has been constructed on the hill. It is certainly worth climbing up here and enjoying the beautiful view.
