Description
I plotted this route from scratch via planjeroute.nl, and when cycling on 10-06-2015 it turned out to be a particularly beautiful, but also tough route.
The route offers some beautiful views, and mainly goes along less busy roads. You also unexpectedly end up through Germany and Aachen.
In Vaals we made a trip to the Drielandenpunt, which makes the route a few kilometers longer than indicated via the junctions. You can reach the challenging trip (up) to the three-country point by keeping left at the Kerkplein in Vaals (opposite a toy store) where the route sign 93 points to the right, and a few hundred meters further on the signs" Drielandenpunt\\\".
We did this trip with our e-bikes, and while we can normally ride 100 kilometers on the battery, we had difficulty not running out of power on this trip. Fortunately, the last kilometers to Valkenbrug are downhill.
All in all a very beautiful and challenging bike ride.
