Walk Herperduin

Just outside Oss lies the Herperduin. An ideal nature reserve for a refreshing walk. This used to be a heathland and shifting sand area, but at the end of the 19th century Scots pines were planted here to keep the shifting sand in check. The wood was also used for prop posts in the Limburg mines. In the middle of the forest you will pass the Ganzenven. This pool was created naturally. In the past, the Ganzenven was drained to serve as a pasture area. It has recently been excavated and returned to its natural state. You walk back to Restaurant Clemens over an avenue with some beautiful villas. Here you can enjoy a delicious meal at your leisure: you deserve it after all that walking.
