Walk Herperduin

Herperduin is located just outside Oss. An ideal nature reserve for a refreshing walk. This used to be a heathland and drifting sand area, but at the end of the 19th century Scots pine trees started to be planted here to keep the drifting sand in check. The wood was also used for supporting poles in the Limburg mines. In the middle of the forest you pass the Ganzenven. This lake was created naturally. In the past, the Ganzenven was drained to serve as a pasture area. It has recently been re-excavated and returned to its natural state. You walk back to Restaurant Clemens along an avenue with some beautiful villas. Here you can enjoy a tasty meal at your leisure: you deserve it after all that walking.
