Tour of Nuenen: Van Gogh on the trail

Nuenen, this village and the immediate surroundings can be seen as a large open-air museum. Nuenen has fourteen Van Gogh Monuments. Nowhere else are there so many buildings, statues and landscapes that have a direct relationship with the artist. Vincent van Gogh lived and worked in Nuenen from December 1883 to November 1885. Here he created almost a quarter of his total oeuvre. Be sure to drop by the Vincentre (Berg 29). The stories are told inside and once outside you walk past the place where Vincent lived, where he had his studio, where his lover lived, where he went to church and painted his first masterpiece 'The Potato Eaters'.
