This route takes you through four natural monuments: De Veluwezoom National Park, the Deelerwoud, the Planken Wambuis and nature at Wolfheze. Particularly beautiful natural monuments that require some effort, because they involve quite some climbing. But then you also get to see and hear beautiful things. The roar of red deer in the autumn, large and small game at dawn or in the evening twilight, wild beauty around the nature reserve with the special name Planken Wambuis or Wodanseiken near Wolfheze. The route also takes you past Park Sonsbeek, the most famous park in Arnhem. The hilly character and the great diversity of trees and plants are striking. The park also has a number of special historical monuments that are worth a visit, including an ice cellar and Belvédère lookout tower (both from the early 19th century). On the edge of the park is also De Witte Watermolen (15th century), the only working watermill of the ten that originally stood along the Sint Jansbeek. The Molenplaats Sonsbeek visitor center is located in the barn of the mill. The visitor center is the ideal starting point for an introduction to the beautiful parks and other nature reserves that Arnhem has to offer.
