Tour of Rozenburg, Maassluis and Vlaardingen

From the village of Zwartewaal you first drive to Rozenburg, a village that used to be one of the South Holland Islands. On the other side of Het Scheur you drive through Maassluis, another picturesque town. Further on you will find a vast landscape of waterways and meadows. You pass the Foppenplas, after which you drive through the Broekpolder: a nature reserve consisting of forests, open spaces and water features. You cycle into Vlaardingen along the canal. Here you will see, among other things, the Aeolus, a mill from 1790. Via the Benelux tunnel you drive to Pernis and to the Valckesteijnse Bos, a nature reserve where many poplars grow. At Fietscafé de Aveling you can enjoy a pleasant pit stop, after which the route has two more historic towns in store for you: Geervliet and Heenvliet.
