Walking route NM3 - Brunssum - Brunssummerheide Dark Green

<p>Welcome to beautiful South Limburg, in particular to the municipalities of Brunssum and Heerlen. This route from Natuurmonumenten takes you through the beautiful area of the Brunssummerheide. Geological activities from the past have led to the Brunssummerheide developing into a versatile nature reserve where forests, heaths, <a href=\\\"https://www.visitzuidlimburg.nl/ontdek/heuvels-dalen/rivieren -brooks-and-sources/?utm_source=routeyourivieren-routepagina&utm_campaign=Theme-Rivieren&utm_medium=link&utm_content=\\\" rel=\\\"nofollow\\\" target=\\\"_blank\\\">beeklopen, fens</a>, farmland and sand plains define the landscape. The core of the heath is formed by the source area of the <a href=\\\"https://www.visitzuidlimburg.nl/ontdek/heuvels-dalen/rivieren-beken-en-bronen/?utm_source=routeyourivieren- routepage&utm_campaign=Theme-Rivers&utm_medium=link&utm_content=\\\" rel=\\\"nofollow\\\" target=\\\"_blank\\\">Roode Beek</a>, where raised moors occur. Some fens occur both on the heaths and in the woods. This route can be followed via aluminum, dark green straps that are mounted on black plastic poles. You can park at the Brunssummerheide Visitor Center (Schaapskooiweg 99 in Heerlen), where you can also enjoy a delicious cup of coffee. Walk from the parking lot past the Visitor Center and at the first path to the left at the post with number DG1 you will see the references in dark green for this route.
