SELF-SERVICE PIT DE TREKSCHUIT (junction 62)
With the manually operated De Trekschuit ferry, pedestrians and cyclists can cross the Vlaardingse Vaart and thus commute between the Zouteveense and Duifpolder. You have to work for that: with a turning wheel you drive a chain and make sure you pull yourself over. The chain sinks to the bottom behind the ferry to prevent nuisance for shipping traffic. Management is done by the Midden-Delfland Recreation Board.
