Stroll along the Rijke Weidevogelboulevard

This route through Amstelland takes you over winding dikes with beautiful views. You look out over wet meadows full of flowers and... full of birds! These polders are one of the few areas where meadow birds are doing well. In the spring you will see and hear many godwits and lapwings. A special experience during this route is the Rijke Weidevogelboulevard. You cycle past various places with information about meadow birds. Some of the ditch edges of the grasslands are sown with different types of flowers. In the spring, this flower strip offers meadow birds and their young food (insects) and hiding places. The Rijke Weidevogelboulevard was made possible by, among others, several farmers from the area, De Amstel Agricultural Nature Association, the Municipality of Amstelveen and Bird Protection Netherlands.
