Nice long walk Meijendel and beach

What a nature so close to the city! This walk through Meijendel, a beautiful nature reserve just above Scheveningen. In the former fishing village itself you can enjoy the beautiful buildings and the characteristic atmosphere. From the starting point you can walk straight into Meijendel, a varied nature reserve. You first walk a long way with a view of the sea, so you can get a breath of fresh air. Close to the sea you can see a low vegetation of dewberry, mosses and sometimes dune rose. The prevailing southwest wind has created parabolic dunes with horseshoe-like shapes. Oaks, hawthorns and honeysuckle grow in the woods. Stop by the Meijendel Visitor Center to find out more about this water extraction area! Then you walk straight through the dunes back to your starting point.
