Nice long walk to Meijendel and the beach

What nature so close to the city! This walk takes you through Meijendel, a beautiful nature reserve just above Scheveningen. In the former fishing village itself you can enjoy the beautiful buildings and the characteristic atmosphere. From the starting point you can walk straight into Meijendel, a varied nature reserve. You first walk a long way with a view of the sea, so that you can enjoy a breath of fresh air. Close to the sea you will see a low vegetation of dewberry, mosses and sometimes dune rose. The prevailing south-westerly wind has created parabolic dunes with horseshoe-like shapes. Oaks, hawthorns and honeysuckle grow in the forests. Stop by the Meijendel Visitor Centre to learn more about this water extraction area! Then you walk straight through the dunes back to your starting point.
