Tour of Giethmen and Huis Eerde

Your cycling route starts at De Kleine Wolf campsite, with the attractive brasserie De Wolventuin. Around the Overijsselse Vecht you drive through a landscape of flowery meadows, hedgerows and quiet forests. On the other side of the Vecht you will discover the hamlet of Junne, which still largely consists of old thatched Saxon farms and ash trees. House Eerde was already known in 1227 and was expanded into a castle in 1380. Be sure to get off here! The estate also contains a hall house farm from the 8th century. Near Giethmen you cycle along the old church path that was previously used by the residents of Giethmen to walk back and forth to the church in Ommen twice on Sundays. The charming drawbridge over the Regge is an icon.
