Tour of Giethmen and House Eerde

Your cycle route starts at camping site de Kleine Wolf, with the atmospheric brasserie de Wolventuin. Around the Overijsselse Vecht you drive through a landscape of flowery meadows, hedgerows and quiet forests. On the other side of the Vecht you will discover the hamlet of Junne, it still consists largely of old thatched Saxon farms and ash trees. Huis Eerde was already known in 1227 and was expanded into a castle in 1380. Be sure to get off here! There is also a hall house farm from the 8th century on the estate. Near Giethmen you cycle on the old church path that used to be used by the inhabitants of Giethmen to walk back and forth to the church in Ommen twice on Sunday. The charming drawbridge over the Regge is an icon.
