Tour of the Vecht along Vilsteren and Junne

In the beautiful Overijsselse Vechtdal you will find camping site De Kleine Wolf, with the attractive brasserie De Wolventuin. It is wonderful to cycle between Den Ham and Ommen. Around the Overijsselse Vecht you drive through a landscape of flowery meadows, hedgerows and quiet forests. On the other side of the Vecht you will discover the hamlet of Junne, which still largely consists of old thatched Saxon farms and ash trees. You cycle under Ommen to the hamlet of Vilsteren, named after the Vilsteren family. It has been an inhabited village with fields and farms since 1382. Now you will find an estate of 1000 hectares, complete with a school, a church and a mill. You cross Ommen and cycle back through the esdorp Arriën, where you pass some beautiful nineteenth-century monumental farms.
