Farmer's War Trail

On this route you walk through the rolling landscape of the Wervik district of Geluwe. You leave in the hamlet of Terhand. From there you leave through quiet country roads into the landscape. You will pass majestic farms that were once part of the Kasselrijen of Kortrijk and Ypres. On the way back you walk through the Moeremaaibos, a remnant of the forests that used to be around the municipality. Nice to know: In the 18th century, Terhand was one of the most important strongholds of the Boer War.
