Tour of half-timbered houses and views near Mechelen

Your route starts at Geulhof Mechelen. The walk introduces you to authentic South Limburg: you walk through sunken roads past lime grasslands, hedges and standard orchards. In Höfke and Schweiberg, the centuries-old half-timbered houses give you the feeling that time has stood still a bit. The route leads through the Schweibergerbosch, a real slope forest. The Bissen gravel farm is located in the Schweibergerbos and a war memorial has been erected hidden among the trees. The hard stone cross, equipped with a corpus, commemorates five fallen British soldiers who crashed in the forest while throwing a bomb. The five names of these brave fighters can be read on the plaque. When you walk out of the slope forest, you enjoy lovely views over the valley.
