Tour of Voerstreek and Noorbeek

Your cycling route starts at Geulhof Mechelen. This route leads you through a beautiful landscape characterized by forest areas on and around the hills, interspersed with heathland. The Gulp (a branch of the Geul) and the Voer meander beautifully through the rolling landscape. Narrow roads always lead you to surprising views on top of the hill. You drive via Mechelen to the Voerstreek. In Plaat you pass the Eperhuis, a beautiful eighteenth-century farm. Via the lovely Noorbeek you cycle to Mheer, once voted one of the ten most beautiful villages in the Netherlands. For example, you will see the seventeenth-century St. Lambertus Church, with the fourteenth-century Mheer Castle behind it. Further on you cycle past Groenendaal: a large nineteenth-century farm that was once a castle.
