Views over old and new land

This route takes you along the Nuldernauw and Wolderwijd. You will cycle along the Harderbroek, among other places. In this nature reserve, vast reed fields, rough marshes, grasslands and early primeval forests alternate. In the spring, the many flowering plants create a carpet of blossoms across the area. You can spot rare marsh birds such as the bittern and the egret. And the sea eagle that regularly comes here to eat. From the Gelderse Vallei, you can see an impressive Green Wall on the other side of the Nuldernauw. This is the impressive Horsterwold, which you will also cycle through later. The route also takes you through the historic centre of Harderwijk, an old Hanseatic and fortified town. The centre, which is a protected cityscape, has almost a hundred monuments, a pleasure to cycle through at a leisurely pace.
