Roast & Bloom Route Workum

The starting point is the parking lot at the beach of Workum, you can easily park here (if it's not a good surfing day ;)). Then you walk to  the beach, here you can sit for a while and enjoy the view. Often there is plenty to see, if not birds then kite or windsurfers. After a moment on the beach you can keep right along the waterline to walk to the bird hide. Maybe you think:'\\\'there is no hiking trail at all\\\'\\\', that's right, it is an adventurous route, all the more beautiful! (For people with reduced mobility, there is also a paved path to the bird hide, which starts before the beach). After the bird hide you can walk over the dike to the campsite. From here you take the Slinkewei to the Tillefonnebrug, a white bridge. Through this first bridge you come to a walking path called'De Tillefonne\\\' that runs through the meadows to Workum.

Once in Workum, turn right and you will arrive at the Merk, where you will find the passage to the nicest coffee shop in Workum on the right: El Cafetin at Merk 22! A nice coffee stop about half of the walking route. Don't forget to order one of the delicious cakes.

At my bus I like to make a beautiful bouquet of fresh or dried flowers for you, so that you can enjoy this nice trip a little longer! The whole idea of this walking route is to upgrade from a visit to El Cafetin and my flower bus with a beautiful piece of nature and culture. Because nature, culture, the car on foot, good coffee, sweets and beautiful flowers, isn't a golden combination?!

In the spring/summer you can also visit the market square of Workum for a delicious lunch or drink, enjoying the sun. Or visit some nice shops in the streets you walk along. Do you like vintage clothing? Then don't forget to visit Vintage Friesland, they are located on the Dwarsnoard (a little further away from the route).

You walk the last part of the route through Workum, pass the Sluis and walk back on the public road towards the beach and the parking lot.
