Tour of Chaam Forests and Ossengoor

Your route starts at RCN Holiday Park de Flaasbloem - Camping. From your starting point, you cycle through the Chaam Forests. The sand drifts, wet heathland and fens here are planted with Scots pine. In the middle of the forests, you walk straight through the beautiful fen the Ossengoor. Goor means marshy, this has always been a wet area. For a while it was used as pasture, but now it has been under water for a number of years. Disappeared plant species are returning, which changes the vegetation of the area. Other animals are also found here: water birds, dragonflies and damselflies feel at home here in the shallow water. You walk straight through the forests back to your starting point.
