Andledon - Hiddingezijl (6.1 km)

Parking is available on site at Andledon. This circular walk from Andledon is partly on farmland paths. In wet weather we recommend rain boots or other closed footwear. The route scrapes Westernieland and runs back to Den Andel via Hiddingezijl. The name Hiddingezijl recalls the lock that was placed in 1350 in the river Oude Riet and the former sea dike. The lateral served until, in the storm surge of the winter of 1520, the dike broke and the lock gates disappeared. There are no longer any traces of the lock; he has not been rebuilt either.
