Tour of Stevensweert from Maaseik

On the left bank of the Maas, opposite Roosteren, you will find the beautiful city of Maaseik. This route takes you up and down past the historic towns along the Maas, with a ferry crossing here and there. Take some time for a cup of coffee (with pie of course!) on the historic Market of Maaseik and then cycle to the beautifully meandering Maas. Every now and then you get the feeling that you are traveling much further south - in the church village of Aldeneik you will even find a winegrower along the route! The fortified town of Stevensweert is worth exploring, so put your bike aside here. Part of Stevensweert enjoys a protected cityscape, and you can still recognize the former fortifications in the street pattern.
