Description

In the region where the Netherlands is the narrowest, you will find the former Island in the Maas. On the edge of Ohé you will pass the sixteenth-century Hasselholt castle, also known as Het Geudje. The castle has a striking Maasland Renaissance facade from 1651. Then you cross the Maas. At Kessenich and Ophoven you will cycle through Belgium for a while while enjoying beautiful views over the Maasplassen. Then you cycle through the picturesque Thorn. This town has a historic centre with white houses and many authentic buildings from the fifteenth to the nineteenth century. The town was the capital of a miniature principality for over 800 years!
