Tour of Cranendonck and Cranendonckse Bos

You walk on a car-free road to the Cranendonckse Bos. You see some beautiful farms, in between you look out over the fields and fields. In the Cranendonckse Bos you can see tall pines, oaks and birches. There are high convex fields around the area. It is wonderfully quiet here. During your route it is also nice to take a look at Cranendonck Castle, near Soerendonk. It was named after the crane that lived in the area. It was probably built in the thirteenth century and was inhabited over the centuries by various noble families. The castle was destroyed by the French in 1673. In 1938 the castle was converted into the town hall of Maarheeze.
