Tour of Cranendonck and Cranendonckse Bos

On a car-free road you walk to the Cranendonckse Bos. You see some beautiful farms, in between you look out over the fields and meadows. In the Cranendonckse Bos you see tall pines, oaks and birches. Around the area are tall round fields. It is wonderfully quiet here. During your route it is also nice to visit Cranendonck castle, near Soerendonk. It was named after the crane that lived in the area. It was probably built in the thirteenth century and was inhabited by various noble families over the centuries. The castle was destroyed by the French in 1673. In 1938 the castle was converted into the town hall of Maarheeze.
