Description
The route goes from the historic city center, via a route along the Breevaart, towards the Reeuwijkse plassen. Here you can fully enjoy the typical Dutch peat landscape, birds and the surroundings.
The Reeuwijkse plassen consists of thirteen lakes in total. These lakes are separated from each other by various roads. They all have a rectangular shape, in which the earlier division of the peatlands from the time of the Great Reclamation can still be recognized. The total area is approximately 735 hectares.
It is a popular area for walkers, cyclists and in the summer swimmers and people with a recreational boat. (These boats can be rented at Landal Reeuwijk.)
