Walking around Wilpse Klei

Your route starts at De Kribbe, a restaurant, bakery, and museum. Enjoy a cup of coffee in a unique location amidst the Wilpse Klei: the beautiful floodplain landscape along the IJssel River. Grab a delicious slice of homemade cake! For those who enjoy it, there's also a museum where you can learn about the history of the old Wilpse Klei farmland. Afterwards, take a lovely walk through this IJssel floodplain, where farms are often built on mounds. The floodplains lie west of the river, near Wilp. The area is part of the Natura 2000 Rijntakken (Rhine Branches) area. At various locations along the IJssel, work is underway to restore and expand nature. The floodplain grassland, oat grassland, and the lakes with crabgrass are particularly noteworthy.
