Walking around Wilpse Klei

Your route starts at De Kribbe. catering, cake bakery & museum. Here you can enjoy a cup of coffee at a unique location in the middle of the Wilpse Klei: the beautiful floodplain landscape along the IJssel. Grab a nice piece of homemade cake! There is also a museum for enthusiasts, where you can learn about the history of the old farmland of the Wilpse Klei. Then you take a nice walk through this overflow area of the IJssel, where the farms are often located on mounds. The flood plains lie west of the river, near Wilp. The area falls under the Natura 2000 area Rijntaken. At various places along the IJssel, work is underway to restore and expand nature. Special here are the stream valley grassland, glossy oat hayland and the lakes with crab shavings.
