Round Ravensbosch and Bokkenheufke Castle

Your route starts at Camping Valkenburg - Maastricht. From here you can walk straight into the Ravensbosch. This dark forest area is wonderfully quiet. You will find special flora and there are even glowworms. Hollow roads, beautiful standard orchards, half-timbered farms, chapels and crucifixes: this hilly landscape with its beautiful stream valleys and steep slopes is one of the most beautiful areas of South Limburg. You regularly climb up, but afterwards you are always rewarded with beautiful panoramas over the beautiful surroundings. You regularly see a beautiful characteristic farmhouse. Bokkenheufke Castle, a large manor house with a courtyard, is located near the village of Schimmert. The house dates from the seventeenth century. On the way back you will pass a large white historic building: a former monastery. Nowadays a stud farm is located here, you can see beautiful horses.
