Round Den Ham and Listenstone Liberation Route

Your walk starts at Camping De Blekhorst. This route takes you around the village of Den Ham in Overijssel. This green village is perhaps the most beautiful village in the entire province and it is centrally located at the three-country point of the Vechtdal, Twente and Salland. Then you walk along the Veenkanaal, as the name suggests, peat used to be transported over this water to the Overijssels Canal. Halfway through the route you will pass a Listening Stone Liberation Route Europe. The Liberation Route follows the path of the Allies during the liberation of Western Europe during World War II. With this listening stone you will learn more about the drama that took place at this location at the end of the war with a three-minute radio play.
