Round Buurserzand: deer and new nature

This quiet nature reserve is unique in Europe due to its size and wet character. You will see a mosaic of heaths with hundred-year-old juniper berries, forests, small fields and a few orchid meadows. At the extreme southern point of the route you pass the Sekmaatsvlakte, a good place to spray deer in winter. In the Rietschot and the Meujenboersven you can see a beautiful example of the redevelopment of the original nature. Centuries-old seepage water streams, rich in lime, have been revived, bringing back all kinds of plant species that had disappeared.
