Round Wormerveer

Wormerveer is the only Zaandorp with an open waterfront. The houses are there with the front door facing the Zaan, so that the residents had a good view of their factories on the other side. 

Various specialty shops and catering establishments can be found in the Zaanbocht. The Wandelweg runs parallel to the Zaan and although the name suggests otherwise, it is now a busy motorway. Between the two traffic arteries is a public park that was opened in 1899 by the young Queen Wilhelmina and has been bearing her name ever since. It is one of the few privately owned Dutch parks. 

Except iconic factories from Lassie, among others. De Adelaar and Boon are also two special residential courtyards included in the walk. The general cemetery (since 2017) a municipal monument. is worth a visit because there are the oldest trees in the region, in which great numbers of great blue herons nest.
