'Water, reeds and marshes\\\', are the images most people see when they think of Weerribben-Wieden in Overijssel. Less known is that the area also consists of forests,'Limburg\\\' slopes, and authentic Zuiderzee towns. Experience it yourself!

The Weerribben-Wieden path takes hikers 150 kilometers along all facets of this unique region in Overijssel on the border of Drenthe, Friesland and Flevoland. The Weerribben-Wieden path consists of 9 stages and you can recognize the path by the white-blue marking on the route panels of the walking network. The route can be followed per stage, in both directions via the signage. Experience it yourself and come for a walk, through forests, over wooded banks and through reed beds. Combine longer trips with an overnight stay, or view the specially composed packages!

We'll give you Stage 1 - Steenwijk - Giethoorn
From the city of the violence of the Eighty Years' War to the village where peat cutters and reed growers struggled for a living. Fortified town of Steenwijk has imposing ramparts and, with Rams Woerthe, the Art Nouveau villa of the Netherlands. Polder roads lead to Giethoorn with its bridges and canals.

Route via walking network:
Start this stage of the Weerribben-Wieden trail. at choice point B60 of the hiking network. You will find choice post B60 on the Stationsplein in Steenwijk. From here, follow the white-blue arrow stickers. This stage ends at choice point C23 (Molenweg, Giethoorn) From this choice point you can start the next stage.
