Tour of the County National Landscape

Your route starts at Slotboom Tweewielers. This route takes you through the Graafschap National Landscape, a 20,000 hectare landscape in Gelderland. De Wiersse Castle is located on the estate of the same name. This castle originally dates from the thirteenth century. In 1893 it came into the hands of Victor de Stuers, the founder of monument protection in the Netherlands. The Wiersse therefore enjoys the status of a national monument. The 300-hectare estate is best known for its beautiful gardens and landscaped park. For visiting times you can consult the De Wiersse website. You will also pass the Zelle Estate. The heart of this estate consists of a centuries-old landscape of avenues, old solitary trees, romantic water features and the monumental Huize Zelle. The history of this building dates back to the fourteenth century.
