Tour of Strabrechtse Heide and Heeze Castle

Your route starts at Heidecafé De Strabrechtse Heide. Here you enter one of the gems of Brabant nature: the Strabrechtse Heide. An immense plain of shrubs and heather where there are some beautiful and quiet fens. You may come across the shepherd with his Kempense Heath sheep. In Geldrop you drive through the stream valley area of the Kleine Dommel, a park-like environment that later takes on a more natural, swampy character. A little later you drive through Gebergten and Herselse Heide, a coniferous forest just north of Lierop. You cycle back via Heeze Castle, beautifully situated in nature. The furnishings from the 18th century are still almost completely intact. Just before the end point you can look out over the Kleine Dommel from a bridge.
