This cycling tour takes you to the Hertogenwald, the"Forest of the Dukes\\\", on the high plains of the East Cantons. The route runs along the artificial lake of the Gileppe, which was created after the construction of the dam in 1875. You cycle in a vast landscape of coniferous trees and enjoy views over the deep valleys with babbling brooks. This is a place for nature lovers. At the end of your tour you can rest in the tower of the dam, 77 meters high. A 360° view awaits you in the upstairs restaurant, an unforgettable experience! For the more active there is a tree climbing park AccroPark, for extra thrills. Take the opportunity to combine this bike ride with the discovery of other lakes and natural gems in the area. Discover the High Fens, the oldest and largest nature park in Belgium. Each one is worth a detour!
