Tour of Hoogcruts and Roebelsbos

Your walk starts at Hotel Café Kreutzer. From here you can walk straight into the Groote Bos or Groote Bosch. This old nature reserve is a remnant of an ancient forest that once grew on the entire Crapoel Plateau. You can also walk near Slenaken through the Gulpdal, one of the most beautiful stream valleys in the Netherlands. Cycling enthusiasts are familiar with Hoogcruts: the route of the Dutch Championship has passed there regularly. The walking path up is beautiful, look back regularly so you can enjoy the view! The higher you go, the more beautiful the view of the idyllic Gulpdal becomes. Once at the top you see the ruins of a fifteenth-century monastery. Enjoying the views, you walk over the ridge to the south. You walk back through the wonderfully quiet Roebelsbos.
