Round Schagen and Greeting from Callantsoog

The route starts at Harry\\\'s Tweewielers in Callantsoog. In the heart of Schagen you can see the Christoforuskerk from 1883. The towers of Slot Schagen date from the Middle Ages. Then you drive through Stroet (the Old Frisian word for swampy). In Burgervlotbrug you can see one of the five remaining raft bridges in the Netherlands. Then you cycle to the Groetermolen, an octagonal windmill from 1890 between Groet and Petten. This mill was used until 1977 to drain the 220 hectares of Groeterpolder. You cycle through the nice Groet area and take in a piece of the highest and widest dunes in the Netherlands: the Schoorlse Duinen. Further on you drive a bit along the Hondsbossche Zeewering. Then you drive into the Pettemerduinen and the Zwanenwater: a relatively unknown, so wonderfully quiet nature reserve.
