Description

Your walk starts at Holiday Park Ackersate.  You can walk straight into nature via the new pedestrian bridge Schaapsdrift Voorthuizen. It is named after the sheepherders who used to walk here on a path to get to the moors. On the other side you will find the Wilbrinkbos. This forest has a rich history due to its location on an old Hessenweg: the medieval trade route from Amersfoort to Deventer. Landgoed Zandbergen was located on this road. It was purchased around 1900 by GJ Wilbrink, who has devoted himself for many years to preserving nature and the landscape in this area. The sand embankment with the worn paths is a treat for walkers, so you can see the difference in height!
