Vecht valley route: follow the Vecht to Germany

This LF route of 245 kilometers from Zwolle follows the Vecht to Darfeld, Germany, in seven stages. The first route starts in the Hanseatic city of Zwolle. From here you cycle to the estate village of Vilsteren, through old forests with beautiful villas and castles. Near Ommen and Hardenberg, large contiguous forest areas alternate with beautiful farming communities, such as Junne, Beerze, Diffelen and Rheeze. In Hardenberg, make a stop at the cozy Boomstamrestaurant Het Heemse! Then you cross the border, past historic towns such as Gramsbergen, to a beautiful landscape of old farms with fruit trees. On the fourth section you cross the Vecht many times. Via Bad Bentheim you cycle to the park landscape of Münsterland. Here the river can be found in bowls, lined with old vegetation: this river valley landscape is protected in many places.
