Large round Zierikzee from Burgh-Haamstede

This cycle route starts at Camping de Meypacht in Burgh-Haamstede. You then drive through Boswachterij Westerschouwen, the largest forest in Zeeland. In Burgh you pass the partly rebuilt former ring rampart that was raised against robbery Normans at the end of the ninth century. You get a beautiful view of the past here! Via the cozy Renesse and Brouwershaven you arrive at the Grevelingenmeer. Further on you pass through the harbor of Zierikzee, a beautiful historic spot. Definitely stop here! You will then find several water and bird-rich nature reserves along the Oosterschelde. You drive along the Schelphoek, a beautiful creek area that arose from one of the largest dike breaches during the flood disaster in 1953. From the Plompetoren you have a beautiful view over the Oosterschelde.
