Tour Doetinchem, Doesburg and Bronckhorst

Your cycle route starts at Herberg Het Onland. After a meander through the pleasant Doetinchem, you cycle through the Achterhoek coulisselandschap to the Hanseatic city of Doesburg. It is one of the few Dutch cities that has been preserved so well. The medieval street pattern is still completely intact. In the beautifully restored old city centre, you will see many characteristic monumental buildings and beautiful fortifications. Then you follow the IJssel for a long way. Along the banks, it is wonderful to cycle with a view of the rippling water and the grasslands in the floodplains. You will also pass the picturesque Bronckhorst. With around 160 inhabitants and city rights since 1344, this is the smallest city in the Netherlands. It feels like a village, with authentic farms and a beautiful location in the middle of farmlands.
