We pass sand quarries with a recreational lake on the right
and on the left future natural waters
At the entrance to the grazing area there is a head of a Tauros (just look around) and 50 m further a sturdy pole with'50 meters\\\' on it - that is the distance you have to keep with the large grazers Read all about the large grazers here.
We pass the Munseheide and heathland'De Kanonsberg\\\'. Hear the story here.
Meandering along the edge of the forest, past the back of a farm with special pigs, we arrive in the area'De Brobbelbries\\\'.
The story from which this area takes its name is about'Jakobus van der Schlossen.
After about 1 km this cycle path/dirt road crosses the Keltenweg. If you take a short excursion from the route (about 200 m) to the left, you will arrive at a cemetery. An information board there will tell you more. But we also have a beautiful story.
Then we arrive at the Slingerpad, which was created by 'civil disobedience' by one of the supervisors of the planting of the production forests. The wood was used in mining, among other things. We're talking about'around 1900\\\'. Plots of forest with all Scots pines, everything laid out in a straightforward manner. The supervisor found this boring and went back to the forest after work, pulled out young pine trees and planted beech trees and oaks.
That formed a winding path through all those boring straight forest plots. He did have to be taken to task by his bosses, but the path was never removed and we can still enjoy it.
At Vluchtoord we find Naatje Piek, close to Belgenlaan, we have a story about WWI here
During the First World War, Uden had a refugee camp for Belgians. During WWI, Belgium was occupied by the Germans, but the Netherlands was not. For entertainment they had a cycling track and a theater:'Naatje Piek\\\'. On the Udense Industrial Estate, the street name Vluchtweg still reminds of the stay of Belgians in Uden.
Just before the Heise Tip, you drive past the camping site with a small bend, drive past the entrance/canteen with a beautiful terrace of the campsite, continue'Zevenhuis\\\'.
After approximately 500 m, turn left into Weversweg. Follow the bend to the right in the Weversweg and then immediately continue straight on the cycle path (do not continue left Weversweg).
You will also pass a stainless steel sheepfold, which is part of a beautiful art project
You pass Camping Hartje Groen/terrace and catering Boshut and Theetuin De Maashorst.
At the end of Postiljonstraat, turn left onto the parallel street of the Rijksweg.
and you will arrive back at your starting point B&B Maashorstpoort, Rijksweg 12.
