Tour of Swifterband and Ketelmeer

In the Flevopolder you cycle five meters below sea level. How is that possible? Thanks to the Afsluitdijk, which turned the Zuiderzee into the IJsselmeer. The reclamation process began and the young province of Flevoland took its first steps. If you leave Dronten behind, you can clearly see that the land reclaimed from the Zuiderzee is tightly divided. You will soon arrive in Swifterbant. You can recognize a fish in Swifterbant's original street plan: the Greente forms the backbone, the Poort and surrounding streets the head. Enjoy the view over the Ketelmeer where the IJsseloog island is located, with the Noordoostpolder on the other side. Then you drive back to your starting point in Dronten.
