Corona throws a spanner in the works of most cultural activities. Yet it is not all doom and gloom. For example, the De Bovenste Plank company has developed a corona-proof alternative for their annual exhibition.
Photo enthusiasts can go in search of the past of their village in Bouwel.
Due to the corona virus, non-profit organization De Bovenste Plank decided not to allow the annual photo exhibition to take place this year, but to look for a safe alternative for young and old."It was necessary to make adjustments to allow our photo exhibition to continue. But we still found a beautiful and fully-fledged alternative. From November 12, people can go in search of the past in Bouwel.\\\" Tells Marleen Van Hoof, van the VZW De Bovenste Plank. Fifty signs with a QR code will be placed on the territory of the parish of Bouwel. After you scan it with a smartphone, old photos and information from these locations will automatically appear on your screen. The project will eventually also be extended to Grobbendonk itself."Contacts with photo collectors from Grobbendonk have now been established to expand this project north of the Albert Canal as well.\\\"
The event was made possible through cooperation with the local government."I admire the organization. In these difficult times it is not easy to organize something. It requires a lot of adaptability and perseverance. In these times more than ever we need connection between all residents, even if we are not allowed to come together.\\\" Decision Mayor of Grobbendonk, Marianne Verhaert (GiB).
