Description
The Maas originates in France and flows into our country via Belgium. That is why the river is of great importance for shipping traffic. That was not always easy, which is why the Meuse Improvement Works Act was passed in 1915. The navigability of the river was greatly improved by the construction of weirs, the construction of canals and the cutting of bends.
