Tour of Rensumaborg in Uithuizermeeden

Your walk starts at B&B and Camping Lentemaheerd. After a cup of coffee, put on your walking shoes. In this region you will discover vast polders and historic villages. In Uithuizermeeden you can admire a church dating from the thirteenth century. The Rensumaborg dates from the sixteenth century, it acquired its current appearance in 1710. It is one of the 17 remaining castles in Groningen. Many of the more than 200 sureties were sold over the centuries and sometimes even demolished, partly because the owners could not pay their debts. As a result of economic hardship, the Rensumaborg was auctioned in 1829 and lost its residential function. The old deposit cannot be visited, but the site is accessible to the public.
