Leudal Loop from Nunhem

After a cup of coffee at Cafe Restaurant St. Servaas, put on your walking shoes. This route takes you through the Leudal nature reserve, an area west of the Maas River in Central Limburg. The entire region is named after it. The Leudal nature reserve is bisected by the meandering Tungelroyse Beek, locally known as the Leubeek. In the Leudal, you will find a mix of wet and dry forests. And silence! You will walk through beautiful stream valleys, past forest fens and inland dunes. In spring, beautiful carpets of flowers color the forest floor. Along the route, in addition to natural beauty, you will also see the Leumolen or St. Ursulamolen, a centuries-old watermill on the Leubeek. The route leads you back along a small stream just north of the Tungelroyse Beek: the Zelsterbeek, a tributary of the Tungelroyse Beek.
