Cycling in Twente is never boring

Mention Twente and the heart of many cycling enthusiasts will beat faster. And rightly so: in this old rolling ash landscape you will find authentic church villages, tranquility and lots of natural beauty.

Valley of the Mosbeek
In the Mosbeek Valley, the fairytale environment is carefully cherished. A stone's throw from each other are two special water mills from 1725: the Bels Mill and the Frans Mill. You feel like you're back in time here. Also because it is still old-fashioned quiet in this border region with Germany. A wonderful region to clear your head and recharge the proverbial battery.

Engbertsdijksvenen
As you approach Langeveen, you notice that the landscape changes: you drive into a lower former peat area, so that the views become more expansive. You pass the edge of the Engbertsdijksvenen, a vast peat area with heath, forests and fens. It is a remnant of the large peat swamp that once covered the northeast of the Netherlands.
