A short round to Schagen

The West Frisian polder is known for its panoramic views, high Dutch skies and colorful bulb fields. It is a pleasure to cycle in such a beautiful landscape, especially when you know how much work it has taken to tame the sea and wastelands. After the reclamation, numerous old hamlets and ribbon villages arose here. This route takes you through some of these picturesque towns, such as Sint Maarten and Schagerbrug. You will see many monumental buildings, such as typical farmhouses and polder mills. The destination of your route is the charming and cozy West Frisian town of Schagen. On the Markt you will pass two national monuments: the building at number 2 dates from the eighteenth century, the house at number 3 from 1692.
