Description

You can see the Groote Kaap lighthouse from afar. The current steel tower is almost seventeen meters high. The Groote Kaap is still used to signal water traffic. Julianadorp is named after the former queen. During the Second World War, the name was changed back to the original name, Loopuytdorp, by order of the Germans. After the liberation, the former farming village continued as Julianadorp. You can enjoy the bulb fields around Anna Paulowna. In Schagen you will see some beautiful seventeenth-century buildings, including on the Loet and on the Markt. The neo-Gothic Christoforus Church dates from 1883. The bell tower contains one of the oldest bells in the Netherlands: Herman's bell from 1478.
